Walking in the Blessing: Living from What Christ Has Already Provided
Walking in the Blessing: Living from What Christ Has Already Provided
As believers, it is easy to fall into the habit of praying and thinking from a place of lack. Many Christians find themselves saying things like, “I hope God blesses me,” or “Maybe God will come through.” But the truth of the gospel tells a very different story. Through Jesus Christ, God has already provided everything we need. Instead of living with a “maybe God will bless me” mindset, we are invited to live with the confidence of “I have been blessed.”
Scripture makes this incredibly clear. Ephesians 1:3 (ESV) says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.” Notice the wording. It does not say He will bless us someday. It says He has blessed us. Through the finished work of Christ, we have been brought into a place of inheritance, provision, and spiritual authority. This truth changes the way we think, speak, and walk through life.
The Power of “Sozo”: Salvation That Restores Completely
One of the beautiful words used in the New Testament to describe salvation is the Greek word “sozo.” This word goes beyond simply being saved from sin. It carries the meaning of being made whole, healed, delivered, preserved, and restored. When Jesus brings salvation, He brings complete restoration to human life.
We see this word used in moments when Jesus healed people. In Mark 5:34 (NKJV), after the woman with the issue of blood touched His garment, Jesus said, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” The phrase “made you well” comes from the word sozo. This shows us that the salvation Jesus brings touches every part of our lives.
God did not just provide forgiveness through Jesus. He provided wholeness. Healing, restoration, peace, and freedom are all part of the blessing that comes through Christ.
Blessed in Every Area of Life
Because of what Jesus accomplished, we are not meant to live defeated lives. Scripture repeatedly reminds us of the fullness that belongs to those who are in Christ.
God promises provision and prosperity in His Word. 3 John 1:2 (NKJV) says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” This prosperity isn’t limited to finances. It speaks to a life that flourishes spiritually, emotionally, and physically as we walk with God. But it comes as our soul prospers. We are called to renew our minds in God’s Word and align our own mind, will, and emotions with His perfect Spirit. As we do this, our soul begins to transform and prosper.
We are also given supernatural strength through His joy. Nehemiah 8:10 (ESV) tells us, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Our strength doesn’t come from perfect circumstances. It comes from knowing who God is and what He has already done for us.
God also promises to fight for us. Exodus 14:14 (NKJV) says, “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” When we understand that the victory belongs to the Lord, we can live with confidence instead of fear.
Jesus Himself declared the ultimate victory in John 16:33 (ESV): “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” Because Christ has overcome, we are not fighting for victory. We are living from His victory.
Operating from Peace
One of the greatest blessings we receive in Christ is peace. The world often looks at circumstances to determine whether peace is possible, but the peace of God is not dependent on circumstances.
Jesus said in John 14:27 (NKJV), “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Through Christ, we are able to operate from a place of rest. Even when situations around us feel uncertain, we can trust that God is working on our behalf.
Philippians 4:7 (ESV) reminds us that “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Adopted into an Inheritance
In biblical culture, the firstborn son was the one who received a double inheritance in the family. But the beauty of the gospel is that through Christ, we have been brought into that place of inheritance.
Scripture tells us that we have been adopted into God’s family. Romans 8:15–17 (NKJV) says:
“You received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.”
Think about what that means. We are not only forgiven, but we are also heirs with Christ. Everything that belongs to Him has now been given to us as part of our inheritance.
This is why Ephesians 2:6 (AMP) says God “raised us up together with Him… and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
We have been brought into the position of Christ Himself through His blood and sacrifice.
Living with the Mindset of the Blessed
When this truth becomes real to us, it changes everything. We begin to think differently. We begin to speak differently. We begin to walk through life with confidence instead of fear.
Instead of asking, “Will God provide?” we begin to say, “God has already provided.”
Instead of wondering whether we will overcome, we stand on the promise that Christ already has. This doesn’t mean life will never have challenges. But it does mean we face every situation from a place of faith and rest. We are invited to labor into rest, trusting that the work of Jesus was enough.
Walking in the Revelation
Knowing this truth is powerful, but believing and receiving it transforms our lives. When the revelation of our identity and inheritance in Christ takes root in our hearts, we begin to live differently.
We walk with confidence, knowing that God has already provided for every area of our lives. We move forward with peace, knowing that Jesus has overcome the world. We face challenges with faith, knowing that God fights for us.
And in every season, we remember this simple but powerful truth: We are not waiting to be blessed. In Christ, we already are.
