The Holy Spirit Scriptures

The Holy Spirit is our guide, comforter, and source of power. Here are some powerful scriptures that teach us about the Holy Spirit:

  1. John 14:26 (ESV) — “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

  2. Acts 1:8 (NKJV) — “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

  3. Romans 8:26 (Amplified) — “In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words.”

  4. Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV) — “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

  5. 2 Corinthians 3:17 (NKJV) — “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

  6. Ephesians 1:13 (Amplified) — “In Him, you also, when you heard the word of truth, the good news of your salvation, and [as a result] believed in Him, were stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit [the One promised by Christ] as owned and protected [by God].”

  7. 1 Corinthians 6:19 (ESV) — “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.”

  8. Isaiah 11:2 (NKJV) — “The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.”

  9. John 16:13 (Amplified) — “But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].”

  10. Luke 11:13 (ESV) — “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

  11. Titus 3:5 (NKJV) — “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.”

  12. Acts 2:38 (Amplified) — “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”

Meditate on these verses and let them remind you of the transformative power of the Holy Spirit in your life. He is always present, working within us to fulfill God’s will and to guide us in truth.
